Mary Chilton Chapter
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website! We are proud and dedicated women from all walks of life, united in supporting the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). We believe in honoring our patriots, serving our veterans, and enthusiastically supporting our military.
We present annual scholarships to our local secondary education youth, DAR Good Citizens program, and JROTC awards, provide mini-grants to South Dakota rural classrooms, and support local schools and libraries with flags and patriotic materials. In our “early” years we offered classes in “Americanism,” and today provide a reception following each naturalization ceremony in Sioux Falls.
We support our veterans and active military by sponsoring events and projects with our Sioux Empire VA Health System and participating in many projects through DAR Project Patriot and Service for Veterans committees. We participate in our July 4th and Veterans Day parades.
Mary Chilton Chapter placed the first Centennial statue in the South Dakota State Capitol rotunda and has worked side-by-side with the Minnehaha County Historical Society to place several historical markers.
